Perfume Reviews (Yay or Nay?!)

Hello Everyone! I hope you’re having a great week so far.

Today I’m going to review some perfumes, including some samples I happen to have. Starting from the back, left to right, I’ll go one-by-one describing my impressions, some of the notes you can identify in them, and whether I would repurchase a bottle.

  1. Burberry Brit Eau de Toilette

This is a lighter version of the fragrance Burberry Brit. At first I wasn’t a big fan of the packaging because I thought the bottle’s rectangular shape looked plain, but slowly the iconic stripes grew on me. Fragrance notes include the following: pear, lime, almond, peony, vanilla, mahogany and tonka bean. The style is impulsive, sexy, and unique. To be honest, I didn’t like the fragrance compared with the other perfumes I have, but if you’re curious, you should give it a go nonetheless!

  2. Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Eau de Toilette

In comparison, I was instantly attracted to Marc Jacobs’ Daisy Dream because of its creative, elegant packaging of daisies all around the bottle! I was so excited to smell this perfume because I’m a big fan of fruity and floral scents and it didn’t disappoint. Fragrance notes include top notes blackberry, grapefruit, pear. Heart notes include jasmine, lychee, and blue wisteria, and base notes include white woods, musks, and coconut water. The style is ethereal, free-spirited, and luminous.  This is definitely a light scent I would go back to.

  3. Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia Eau de Toilette

Similarly to the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream, I liked this feminine packaging. I think it’s chic yet classic looking with the sleek sides of the hexagonal bottle and detail of the black bow. However, I didn’t like the floral scent as much. Fragrance notes include the following: red berries, pear, white gardenia, frangipani flower, patchouli, and brown sugar. The style is charming, romantic, and optimistic. Since I didn’t love this scent, I would not use this as often as the others.

 4. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Toilette

As you can tell by the picture, I’ve used this perfume the most because I love it! I love the clean, smooth and sophisticated face of the bottle. One spray of this fruity, floral fragrance is instant happiness! This is my go-to everyday scent and I always get compliments from friends and family whenever I wear it. Fragrance notes include grapefruit, jasmine, and white musk. The style is delicate, radiant, and at once innocent and seductive. Personally, the scent reminds me of delicious rambutans. Ah! I just love it and would definitely repurchase it!

 5. Versace Bright Crystal Eau de Toilette

First off, I was drawn to the name and packaging of the Versace Bright Crystal. I liked how the bottle’s cap really looked like a gleaming, bright crystal. When I first smelled it, I thought I liked it. It’s another floral fragrance just like most of the others. Yet, the more I used it, the more I realized the scent was too strong for me and now it makes me nauseous. Fragrance notes include the following: yuzu, pomegranate, peony, magnolia, lotus flower, musk, and amber. The style is sheer, sensual, and luminous.  Clearly, this is not a scent I would repurchase.

6. Philosophy Amazing Grace Eau de Toilette

Since this was just a sample and not the actual bottle, I could only go by a picture of the packaging of the bottle that was included inside. Personally, I like how simple, straightforward and clean the bottle’s design is. Moreover, I liked how clean, feminine and floral the scent is! Fragrant notes include bergamot, muguet blossoms, and musk. As mentioned earlier, the style is feminine, floral, and clean. This is definitely a fragrance I would want a full size bottle of!

7. Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Juicy Couture at all. From the picture of the bottle, I can tell right away that the design of the bottle didn’t help either. Elements on the bottle that I thought was just too much include the bling, crown, and big pink bow. However, the scent itself was not bad! I really liked the notes of vanilla! Other fragrance notes include wild berries, honeysuckle, sandalwood and jasmine. The style is playful, glamorous, and charming. I wouldn’t mind receiving this perfume as a gift, but personally I wouldn’t buy it.

8. Sarah Jessica Parker Stash Eau de Parfum

Last but not least, I tried on SJP’s Stash. Based on the picture of the bottle, I really wasn’t impressed by the unattractive design. I think it could do so much better, especially since the scent was so daring and sophisticated. I really liked the dark, woody and musky notes. This is a scent I would not usually wear, but I would have to get used to. Top notes include grapefruit, black pepper, and sage. Heart notes include cedarwood atlas, patchouli, ginger lily, and pistachio. Base notes include olibanum, massoia wood, vetiver, and musk. The style is magnetic, mysterious, and provocative. Personally, the sample bottle is enough for me and I wouldn’t buy a full-size bottle of it.

If you made it this far into the post, thank you so much for reading! I hope I was able to help you learn more about a specific fragrance. If you have any of the fragrances I mentioned, leave a comment and tell me your own thoughts about them or feel free to recommend me another one!

Happy Smelling and Reviewing!

Love,

Trisha
